Iran, U.S.A., Korea Win 1 Gold Medal Each on 3rd Day of World Taekwondo Championships

 
Iran, the United States and Korea grabbed one gold medal each on the third day of the 2009 WTF World Taekwondo Championships at the Ballerup Super Arena near Copenhagen, Denmark on Oct. 16, 2009.
 


Iran, the United States and Korea grabbed one gold medal each on the third day of the 2009 WTF World Taekwondo Championships at the Ballerup Super Arena near Copenhagen, Denmark on Oct. 16, 2009.
 
In the mens under 68kg category, Irans Mohammad Bagheri Motamed beat Mexicos Idulio Islas to earn his country the gold medal.
 
The bronze in the division went to Senegals Balla Dieye and Turkeys Servet Tazegul.
 
In the womens under 53kg division, the United States Danielle Pelham brushed aside a stiff challenge from Thailands Sarita Phongsri to clinch the gold medal.
 
Guatemalas Euda Carias Morales and Koreas Eun-Kyung Kwon shared the bronze medal in the category.
 
Koreas Hyo-seob Yeom outpointed Irans Reza Naderian to earn his country the first gold medal at the 2009 World Taekwondo Championships.
 
The bronze went to Spains Javier Marron Jimenez and Turkeys Cem Ulugnuyan.
